Welcome. We are so glad you’re here. Sit down, grab a cup of tea (or some gloriously caffeinated coffee), and let us tell you a bit about who we are. We are the owners of Apple Birth & Wellness, Brittany (on the left in the picture) and Stephanie (on the right!). We joined forces in 2016, after we had both been working independently in the Washington DC Metro Area for several years as yoga teachers, doulas, and childbirth educators. As our solo businesses grew, we realized that we could do so much more good together than we could separately. Thus, after many mid-morning meetups at Northside Social in Arlington, Virginia, Apple Birth & Wellness was born.  Our philosophy is simple. We want all birthing people and birthing families to feel respected and supported during pregnancy, birth, and beyond, no matter who you are, what your family looks like, or what choices you make for your parenthood journey. We want you to have someone to reach out to anytime you have questions or need to vent. We want you to know what options are available to you and what your priorities are. Most of all, we want you to know there’s someone in your corner. (That’s us! We’re in your corner!)  We’re also not going to be the Pinterest-perfect birth company that only talks about how you should be happy because this is the best time in your life. We share how real and tender it is growing your family–no rose-colored glasses about the glow of pregnancy (it can be absolutely wonderful, but also sweaty and waddly) or of being a brand-new sleepy-eyed parent (it’s incredible, but also mushy and exhausting and emotional). However you feel about being pregnant or having a newborn is valid. One day (or minute), you might be on cloud nine and feeling like a magnificent vessel of life; the next, you’re sobbing over whether you’ll ever feel like yourself again.  We know. We get it. We’ve been there. We’re both parents ourselves and have two kids each, ranging from a few months to eight years old. We’ve both dealt with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders–anxiety and depression during pregnancy and postpartum. We’re not lying when we say we’ve been in the trenches. It’s hard. Even when things are healthy, uncomplicated, and generally good, being a pregnant, birthing, and new parent is tough. But we want to make it easier for you. We want to hold your hand through the whole process so you know that you have the support you and your family need during this time of excitement, newness, and uncertainty.  We’ll be here, on our website, on our blog, on social media, telling you about ourselves, our lives, and our journeys through parenthood. We’ll share with you some of our favorite baby gear items and yoga poses to help you physically and mentally. Our team will also be featured so you can get to know them, too. Join us on social or send us an email. We can’t wait to get to know you.
